I think we can switch off the monitor and stop monitoring the Wall Street fluctuations. Consumer Confidence is more of a leading indicator. With such a nightmarish reading it will mean that consumer consumption will correspondingly be reduced and hence a recession will be a sure thing and it will be another sure thing that this recession is going to be a long and tough one given the statistics.
